The Heritage Strategy was adopted by Council in March 2012. It sets out the principles and actions that are required to keep, share and pass on our cultural heritage. It sets directions and priorities for the identification, protection, management and promotion of Mount Alexander’s heritage and for the involvement of the community in those processes.
The Heritage Strategy was developed through a consultative approach including Council staff, the community and the Heritage Advisory Committee. Click to read the Strategy and appendices.
The appointment of a Council Heritage Officer was a priority action for Year 1 of the Strategy. The Heritage Officer oversees the implementation of the Strategy. Contact us to get in touch with the Heritage Officer.
