Business grants and funding

Mt Alexander Timber & Hardware with large prize money cheque of $2000.

How to tap into government funding

Did you know that there are millions of grant dollars available for business through government funding programs right now?

There is Victorian State and Federal Government funding available for you to access, but you need to know where to look for the information, understand the criteria, eligibility and guidelines.

Council recently held an informal expo style event with the people who assess your funding applications. It provided a unique opportunity to talk directly with funding program managers about what grants are available, what they look for in a grant application and how to apply.

We have received great feedback about the event and are planning another information session for later in the year. In the meantime, check out the range of grants on offer.

Get Lost Activation grants

Following the success of the rapid response Get Lost Quick grants program open in mid-2020, Council is offering a second tranche of grants of up to $3K and $5K for initiatives that work to support our creative and cultural economy.

As part of Council's COVID budget response, Get Lost Activation is specifically targeted at our local cultural and creative industries and their partners in affiliated industries such as tourism and hospitality.

It may be that you’re starting up, are a well-established micro-business or collective that needs to pivot services, or you’ve been working up a new partnership concept to support the health of a particular group or sector.

The Get Lost Activation Grants program is open from Monday 25 January and closes 11.59pm Monday 15 February 2021.
For further information view the Get Lost Activation grants guidelines here and visit the supporting our arts page.
