In order to understand the condition of our assets and to identify any potential hazards, proactive inspections are undertaken at regular intervals throughout the year, and then more formally through a yearly rotational condition assessment program.
The work that we undertake is generally prioritised considering all issues present at any given point in time. This is a risk based approach, where the existing condition of the asset is assessed along with the safety factors associated with that asset (categorisation, location, frequency of use, and other asset management information).
It is a difficult job, and we are working hard to improve how we do it.
