Payment options

Council offers a range of payment options for rates, pet registrations, permits, home and community care services, and fines for your convenience. Payment options include online, BPAY, direct debit, credit card, phone and in person.

Online payments

Make sure you have your bill or statement with you as this has all the information you need to make a payment.

Paying by Direct Debit

Please use our online Direct Debit Application form if you would like your rates or other Council payments to be automatically deducted from your nominated bank account.

Paying in person

You can pay in person at our Customer Service Centre. Full EFTPOS facilities are available, or you can pay by cash, cheque or money order.

You can also pay your rates and some other payments at any Australia Post outlet. This will be indicated on your payment notice.

Paying by mail

Cheques or money orders should be made payable to Mount Alexander Shire Council and should be marked not negotiable. You can also pay by credit card. Please include the bottom section of your payment notice. For planning permits, please include your permit reference number or property address details.

Centrepay

You can arrange to have your Rates or Home Services payments set up as regular deductions from your Centrelink payment. This service is free and voluntary.

See the Centrepay website for more details on how to apply. To register you will need Council’s Centrelink Reference Number which is 555-055-431-A.

Sign up to receive your rates notice online

Sign up to BPAY View to receive your rates notice online via your internet banking service.

  1. Log in to your internet banking service
  2. Look for the BPAY View or View Bills link
  3. Select Mount Alexander Shire Council (Biller Code: 41749)
  4. Enter the BPAY Reference from your bill and your name (exactly as shown on your rates notice)

Receive your rates notice by email

With eNotices you can self-manage your properties, send notices to multiple email addresses, print additional copies, and view your notices online at any time.
 
2. Enter in your email address and eNotices Reference Number (you can find this on your rates notice)
3. Check your email inbox and click the validation link.
4. Select a password and enter your mobile number.
