Save the date for Emergency Expo 2022: Know Your Area, Know Your Risk

Castlemaine Emergency Response Expo

Mark your calendar and save the date for this year’s Castlemaine Emergency Response Expo on Saturday 8 October at Western Reserve in Castlemaine.

20 June 2022

Are you looking for information on how to prepare for emergencies? Perhaps you’re interested in volunteering with our emergency services?

Mark your calendar and save the date for this year’s Castlemaine Emergency Response Expo on Saturday 8 October at Western Reserve in Castlemaine.

The expo is a free community event where you’ll find:

• Trucks and other vehicles that support our community during times of crisis
• Information on how to prepare your property for flooding, storms and fire
• Our first responders
• Emergency service volunteers who can help you get involved locally.

“We all know that disasters are unforeseeable. Whether it’s the season for floods and storms or bushfires, you need to know exactly what to do,” said Luke Ryan, Council’s Emergency Management Coordinator.

“Stop by the expo and speak to your local emergency services so that you, and your family and neighbours, know what to do when the time comes.

“You may even want to get involved and become a volunteer, yourself.”

Food and drink will be available on the day, and gold coin donations to the local CFA and SES are welcome.

The expo is hosted by Mount Alexander Shire Council and the Castlemaine SES Unit, in partnership with Victoria State Emergency Service, Country Fire Authority, Fire Rescue Victoria, Forest Fire Management Victoria and Victoria Police.
