Play space for Stanley Park North

We are thrilled with the playground the kids of Harcourt can now enjoy.

The community has played an integral role in developing the design. There was a working group of local parents, grandparents and educators contributing ideas. The group collaborated with us and local play space designers.

The result was a playground inspired by the town’s fruit-growing history and Indigenous culture.

The play space features a large play tower with its design inspired by apple crates. The tower, over six metres high, has a ten metre long slide, climbing wall, play stalls and a viewing platform.

Designed for all ages and all abilities, the play space includes an accessible carousel, swings, rocker and spinner. There are several nature-play elements and indigenous plantings surround the playground. The decorative rockwork includes locally quarried granite.

We funded the play space in partnership with the Victorian Government, who provided $250,000. Harcourt Progress Association generously contributed $6,500 courtesy of a Maldon Community Bank grant.

We have also developed a master plan for Stanley Park North. It ensures the play space is well positioned in the park. It will also provides linkages between the pool and the shops, and ensures we acknowledge history and Indigenous culture.
