Amendment C073 & Permit PA072/2013 – Supermarket in Castlemaine

The land included in the amendment and permit application is 98 Forest Street, 2 Urquhart Street, 2A Urquhart Street, and 2 Duke Street Castlemaine.

What the amendment does (Amendment C073)

The amendment rezoned land from Public Use Zone - Service and Utility (PUZ1) and General Residential Zone 1 to the Commercial 1 Zone (C1Z).

The amendment also applied the Design and Development Overlay (DDO) Schedule 15. The DDO has been developed specifically for this site as it is at the gateway to central Castlemaine.

What the planning permit is for (PA072/2013)

The permit allows for the construction of supermarket and associated car parking.

The developer has not advised which supermarket brand will occupy the building. A separate planning application will be made for signage in due course.
