Outdoor trading refers to trading on areas that form part of footpaths, laneways, road reserves and roads for activities such as:
- Outdoor dining
- Selling products
- Displaying signage
You will need an outdoor trading permit to place items on the footpath outside your business. Examples of the items allowed are:
- Tables, chairs, bench seats and umbrellas
- Advertising signs
- Display of goods
- Planter boxes, screens/barriers or promotional

Parklets
Parklets allow the temporary use of on-street car parking spaces for outdoor dining and general trader use.
To apply for a parklet permit follow the steps below, but use the Parklet application form(PDF, 92KB) instead of the Outdoor trading permit application form.
