Elder Rights Advocacy supports older people, their families and representatives in Victoria to address issues related to Commonwealth-funded aged care services. Our service is free, independent and confidential.

We believe that older people have a right to express their opinion and receive respect.

Our job is to listen to and support you and your family to identify and advocate for solutions that best respond to your circumstances. Sometimes this involves us advocating strongly to an aged care service and challenging them to provide better care.

We are a member of the national Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN), delivering the National Aged Care Advocacy Program (NACAP).

We also provide the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) throughout Victoria. This is a volunteer program where we connect volunteers with older community members to visit their homes or residential aged care to provide social connection and friendship and help reduce social isolation.

We are currently seeking volunteers to participate in the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme in the Mount Alexander region. If you enjoy spending time with older people and have a spare 1 or 2 hours a week, we'd love to hear from you. Together, we can reduce loneliness and social isolation across the region.
