Gender Equality Action Plan

Council’s Gender Equality Action Plan 2021-2025 outlines our strong commitment to organisational gender equality.

The plan highlights initiatives we will implement to ensure that our workplace:

  • Is safe and has equal access for all staff to opportunities, authority, rewards, outcomes, and resources
  • Treats all staff, regardless of gender, with respect, dignity and fairness and supports equal pay for equal work.

We understand that gender equality is a fundamental human right and we also understand that gender equality in society and organisations will bring significant social, health, wellbeing and economic benefits.

The Gender Equality Action Plan 2021-2025 was developed under the Gender Equality Act 2020 and in accordance with the guidance provided by the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector.
