Climate action is in everything we do

We are embedding climate action into the way we work. Since early 2022, Council managers and coordinators have been coming together for monthly climate action meetings.

This group has been identifying significant risks that climate change poses to our infrastructure – including buildings, roads and bridges – our ability to support our community and what we can do to reduce them. 

Climate action is included in all officer briefings to Councillors, and considered in all projects and initiatives.  

We now source our operational electricity from 100% renewable sources, have started transitioning our fleet to electric vehicles, and have upgraded our street lights to LED as part of our transition to a zero-emissions shire.
