Standpipes

Potable water comes from standpipes in Maldon, Newstead and Taradale. Note: the standpipes are now managed by Coliban Water, not Mount Alexander Shire Council.

You will need an AvData key to access water, see below for details.

To report a maintenance issue, fault or emergency, contact Coliban Water (24/7) on phone 1300 363 200.

Existing standpipe account holders

Existing AvData key holders that were issued by Council, will now have access to all Coliban Water standpipes.

For any inquiries call 1300 363 200.

How to apply for an AvData key and account

If you wish to apply for access to the three standpipes or other standpipes, you may apply on Coliban Water’s Water carting page.

How to apply for a water carting permit

To take water from a standpipe connected to the Coliban Water network, you need a water carting permit.
