Roadside Conservation Management Plan

Council adopted the Roadside Conservation Management Plan 2024-2029 at its meeting on Tuesday 20 August 2024.

The plan is a guiding document for Council officers to provide clear and consistent decision-making relating to managing rural roadsides across the shire. It also assists in informing the community, landowners, contractors and other management authorities, on matters of roadside conservation.

While the primary function of roads is to provide safe and effective transit, roadsides provide important biological values and crucial habitat connectivity across a fragmented landscape.

The Roadside Conservation Management Plan 2024-2029 establishes Council’s approach to vegetation management and details achievable actions to further protect, maintain and enhance the valuable ecological communities and environmental assets intrinsic to our roadsides.

The Roadside Conservation Management Plan 2024-2029 replaces the Roadside Conservation Management Plan 2012-2017.
