Upcoming Council Meetings 2024

Meetings of Council occur at 6.30pm on the third Tuesday of each month, and are open to the public and live streamed.

The meeting's agenda (and associated reports) will be made available on this page and in the Civic Centre from 5.30pm on the Thursday preceding the meeting. 

Minutes are available by close of business on the Friday following the meeting.  

Mount Alexander Shire residents can submit question or statements in advance for Council to answer at the meeting. Find out more on the Public question and comments page.

Community Notice: Meeting of Council Cancellation and Notice of Unscheduled Meeting

Please be advised that the upcoming Meeting of the Mount Alexander Shire Council, originally scheduled for 6:30 pm on 19 November 2024 in the Mount Alexander Shire Council Chamber at the Civic Centre in Castlemaine has been cancelled.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

At this time, Council also wishes to advise the community that an Unscheduled Meeting of Council is to be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday 26 November 2024 in the Mount Alexander Shire Council Chamber at the Civic Centre in Castlemaine.

This Unscheduled Meeting has been called in order for Councillors to consider the Mayoral term, elect a Mayor and to consider the role of Deputy Mayor in accordance with sections 25, 26 and 27 of the Local Government Act 2020.
