Celebrate Christmas with the Mount Alexander Shire community by joining Christmas Lunch.

The annual lunch is hosted by Castlemaine Community House and is a free celebration open to all residents. It’s a great way to come together and connect with your community, and enjoy the season’s festivities in a friendly environment.

It’s particularly good if you don’t have plans for Christmas and want to spend the day in good company.

The day will include lunch and dessert, music, activities, presents, and a visit from Santa.

This year the party will be spilling out of the Castlemaine Town Hall and into Mechanics Lane to accommodate the growing numbers.

Mount Alexander Shire Council’s Deputy Mayor, Cr Rosie Annear, is a regular at Christmas Lunch.

“I love going to Christmas Lunch,” said Cr Annear.

“There’s a great energy on the day and everyone’s cheer really makes for a fun day.

“There are so many highlights – the food, the music, the good company!

“I encourage anyone in the community who needs some company on Christmas Day, or who just wants to be around their community, to come along for a beautiful day.

“If you can’t make it, there are lots of other ways to get involved. You can volunteer, or donate funds, produce or gifts.

“It’s a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas so get in involved in any way that you can.”
