Free green waste disposal available

To help prepare homes and properties for high risk weather season, we’re offering free green waste disposal.

Preparing homes and properties for high risk weather season is essential in mitigating risk of bushfire.

Free green waste disposal is available to residents and ratepayers from Saturday 2 November to Sunday 17 November at the Castlemaine and Maldon transfer stations.

We suggest pruning bushes, cutting overhanging branches, clearing out gutters and relocating piles of wood away from buildings.

Other ways we’re preparing for bushfires, floods, storms and heatwaves include roadside slashing, tree pruning around powerlines, property inspections and helping community members create emergency plans.
