Mount Alexander Shire Council is inviting the community to provide feedback on the North Central Goldfields Regional Library Corporation agreement, which will be renewed for 2024.

The Regional Library Agreement outlines the contract between Council and the Goldfields Libraries to deliver library services to the community.

The Goldfields Libraries, which includes the Castlemaine Library, is an integral part of the Mount Alexander Shire community.

They offer free services including access to books, music and films, as well as events, workshops, a seed library, IT support, and much more.

Mount Alexander Shire Council’s Director of Corporate and Community Services, Lisa Knight, said that the Castlemaine Library sits in the heart of the shire’s community.

“Our library offers so much support to our residents – storytime sessions, school holiday programs, author talks,” said Ms Knight.

“And that’s not to mention the quiet and inviting atmosphere, and friendly library staff who are always happy to help.

“I’d like to invite our community to review the new agreement and tell us what you think.

“Libraries are community-focused and having input from our community will ensure a strong agreement.”
