Help shape the future of the Maldon Caravan Park

Maldon Caravan Park

Mount Alexander Shire Council is inviting residents, businesses and event organisers to have their say on the future of the Maldon Caravan Park.

Council is currently managing the operation of the park and is reviewing the future potential use of the site.

There are four options up for consideration:

  • Continue maintaining the operation of the caravan park.
  • Repurpose the land for recreation and/or leisure.
  • Repurpose the land for social and affordable housing.
  • Hand the land back to Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action (DEECA).

“Council is committed to ensuring our assets remain fit for purpose and relevant to our community,” said Karen Evennett, Council’s Manager Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities.

“Community feedback gives us valuable insight into what residents want and need in Maldon, and may influence the future use of this space.

“We’re holding two drop-in sessions – one for local business owners and event organisers, and one for community members.

“I encourage residents to come along. It’s a great opportunity to learn more, ask questions and provide feedback in-person.”

Community feedback, along with details on planning costs and other factors, will be included in a report for Councillor consideration in mid-2025.
