Are you a local emerging artist who’s passionate about sustainability? Do you want to stretch your skills and build your public art portfolio with support from Council?

Mount Alexander Shire Council is inviting artists to express their interest in creating digital artwork that will be displayed on Cleanaway trucks, Council’s new waste collection service.

The paid commission will explore the sustainability theme ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ and waste minimisation, and will be on display for three years.

Council’s Mayor, Cr Matthew Driscoll, is proud to support local artists and promote sustainability.

“We now that sustainability is important to our community, and we have so many talented artists locally that can help us spread that message.

“Our new contract with Cleanaway is a great opportunity to create public art that promotes the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ motto.

“I encourage emerging printmakers, painters, illustrators and photographers to express their interest in joining this project.

“It’s an amazing opportunity to flex your artist skills and expand your practice to large-scale art.

“I’m excited to see what artwork and sustainability messaging comes from this project.”
