Share your feedback on Council’s draft road management and asset plans

Mount Alexander Shire Council is inviting residents to review and share their feedback on the draft Road Management Plan and draft Asset Plan.
The draft Road Management Plan outlines Council’s role and responsibilities when it comes to maintaining our roads.
The draft Asset Plan guides Council on the long-term management of our infrastructure assets, such as roads, pathways, buildings, bridges and more.
The two plans are reviewed every four years to ensure relevance and up-to-date service standards.
Council’s Director Infrastructure and Development, Michael Annear, said the purpose of the two plans is to ensure safe, accessible and well-maintained roads and assets across the shire.
“We know roads and community assets are important to our residents,” said Mr Annear.
“They receive significant wear and tear from use and weather events such as storms.
“We also have a large number of roads and assets across our shire. We maintain nearly 1,500 kilometres of roads, and our assets include buildings, bridges, drains, equipment and more.
“That’s where our two plans come in. They guide the way we manage, maintain and upgrade our roads and assets.
“I encourage you to review the two draft plans and share your feedback. It will help us continue to provide functional roads and assets for our community to use, and ensure they’re well-managed into the future.”
