The role

As part of the Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities unit, the Coordinator Parks and Open Space leads a team to:

  • Ensure a high standard of presentation and community satisfaction with Councils open space assets
  • Ensure a planned and coordinated approach to maintenance and improvement works in parks, open space and recreation facilities across the shire
  • Develop and oversee strategic direction to ensure the maintenance and longevity of Councils open space, tree and natural environment assets
  • Build the capacity of the Parks and Open Space team to respond to evolving legislation, strategic direction and community needs.

Our ideal candidate

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Qualifications in Horticulture – minimum Certificate IV
  • Extensive relevant experience in a similar role
  • Management or supervisory experience
  • Experience with capital works programs, including overseeing projects, budgets and contractors
