The role

We are looking for a dedicated and visionary person to join our team. In this key leadership role, you will join with the Chief Executive Officer and the Executive team to lead the organisation, by shaping its culture, supporting strategic direction and optimising performance.  This newly created position will allow for the successful candidate to make it their own and develop directorate strategies that align with organisational objectives. You will oversee the following units:

  • Finance (including rates, procurement and corporate reporting)
  • Information Technology (including business analytics and cyber security)
  • Engagement and Customer Experience (including Customer Service, Media, Communications, Venues and Events, Visitor Information services, and volunteer management)
  • Governance and Risk (including Councillor support, governance, risk, and record management)

With a strong focus on business performance, financial sustainability and continuous improvement, the Director of Corporate Services will approach the work with a whole of organisation mindset, systems thinking and a strategic focus.   

Providing excellent internal and external customer service is also a top priority.  You will work with your teams to ensure that every interaction reflects the organisation’s dedication to meeting and exceeding customer expectations including through streamlining processes and removing barriers.

The role also has a strong focus on upholding high standards of corporate governance, operating with integrity, transparency, and accountability to meet regulatory requirements and ethical standards.

  • Ability to build and maintain trust and confidence with staff, Councillors, and community partners
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
