The role
The Principal Project Engineer is a senior role within the Engineering team, supporting the planning and delivery of Councils Engineering Services through:
- Delivery and management of complex design and capital works projects from scoping through to completion
- Provision of high level Engineering technical supervision and problem solving across Council
- Mentoring and supervising Project Engineers and their assigned projects, and oversee contractors
- Coordinating approvals and permits for civil infrastructure projects
- Preparation and presentation of reports and technical documents, including tender submissions and contracts
- Management of tender evaluation panels and timely reporting
Our ideal candidate
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Formal qualifications in Civil Engineering, and extensive experience in civil design, construction and project management particularly in Local or State Government environments.
- Engineering registration
- Demonstrated leadership experience providing supervision, guidance and mentoring others
- Project management experience, from initiation through to implementation working to time and budget deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and problem solve, working effectively in a complex, political environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and present to a variety of stakeholders
