Castlemaine and District Festival of Gardens 2024

The theme of the 2024 Castlemaine and District Festival of Gardens is The Art of Gardening – celebrating the creative expression of the gardeners, who have turned their patch of soil into a thing of beauty and joy.

For over 34 years the gardeners of Mount Alexander Shire have opened their front gates and welcomed visitors in to enjoy the fruits of their labours.

Every two years, in Melbourne Cup week, a number of privately owned gardens are selected and offered for your enjoyment. As always there will be a variety of gardens, from grand and historical gardens to small cottage plots and gardens which will inspire and delight.

Showcasing grand country gardens, historic gardens, verge gardens, sculpture gardens, town gardens and many varieties and purpose - built accessible gardens.
