Free mulch now available

Residents of Mount Alexander Shire can collect mulch for free from the Castlemaine Transfer Station subject to availability and site conditions.  

Important information

  • Mulch is subject to availability
  • The quality of mulch cannot be guaranteed (and cannot be returned). The mulch is the product of shredded green waste brought onto the site from customers. The mulch could contain weed seeds
  • Residents arriving to collect mulch will be asked to sign a declaration form
  • We recommend taking a car trailer to collect and transport the mulch. The site can often be very busy. There maybe be a wait if you are seeking help with loading material from our onsite operators, we appreciate your patience
  • Transfer station staff reserve the right to reject or defer requests for free mulch due to site conditions, and request that customers return at another time

Castlemaine Transfer Station
Sluicers Road, Castlemaine

Monday to Sunday 8:00 am to 4.00 pm
(Except Total Fire Ban days, Christmas Day, New Years Day and Good Friday)
