Showcasing over 60 established and emerging artists, designers and craftspeople, the market is making a new home for itself on the fourth Sunday of every month.
The first market for 2022 is being held on Sunday 23 January at Western Reserve, on the corner of Wheeler and Forest streets in Castlemaine.
Bringing together the best of the region’s home-grown art and design, market-goers can expect to find everything from handcrafted leather goods, to exquisite jewellery, silk-screened printed products, earthy ceramics, clothing, and much, much, more.
"The move to the fourth Sunday of each month marks an exciting chapter in the evolution of this cultural institution,” said Judith Telfer, Treasurer of the Castlemaine Artists Market.
Mount Alexander Shire Council’s Manager of Economy and Culture, Merryn Tinkler said Council is proud to support the Castlemaine Artists Market, and the space it provides for local makers and businesses.
“The market is an important and welcoming space for the community to gather as well as an open invitation for visitors from across the region to enjoy our shire,” she said.
The new date for the Castlemaine Artists Market means there will be a market on three weekends a month in the shire.
First Sunday: Castlemaine Farmers Market
Second Sunday: Maldon Market
Fourth Sunday: Castlemaine Artists Market
