Beware of scammers

We are aware some Home Support clients have been targeted by scammers. Scammers have phoned people informing them their Community Home Services contract has expired and will require a $99 payment to continue. If you receive a call like this please hang up and report it to the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.

Enjoy outdoor spaces

There are plenty of reasons to head outdoors in autumn, particularly with the Castlemaine State Festival kicking off this week.

Council is a proud supporter of this event. To help businesses cater for more diners, we have established temporary outdoor eating and entertainment areas throughout the shire.

Enjoy our most recent pop-up space at Old Bank Corner in Maldon, and keep an eye out for the transformation of Frederick Street in Castlemaine during the festival.

Financial advice over lunch

Get to know your local financial support service providers as you enjoy a two course vegetarian meal for $5 at the Community Lunch this week.

Castlemaine Community House has invited local services who provide financial advice and support along to the lunch to talk about No Interest Loan Schemes, free Financial Counselling and local assistance.

Lunch is from 12.30pm to 1.45pm on Tuesday 16 March at the Castlemaine Town Hall on Lyttleton Street. Enter via Frederick Street.
